Indian media claimed that a new variant of “Delmicron” virus appeared in Europe and the United States.

As the new variant of COVID-19 (COVID-19), Omicron, is raging around the world, many Indian media reported that a new variant called “Delmicron” has now appeared in Europe and the United States. As the name suggests, Delmicron is a combination of two mutant strains of Delta and Omicron.
According to a report by The Times of India on the 24th, as Delmicron is a complex of two strains, it is believed to spread extremely fast and cause more severe symptoms.
According to the report, the common symptoms caused by Delmicron are high fever, continuous cough, loss of smell and taste, headache, and sore throat.
According to a report by “India Today” on the 24th, Dr. Shashank Joshi, the head of the Wuhan Pulmonary Epidemic Prevention and Control Working Group in Maharashtra, India, said that the Delta and Omicron strains led to confirmed cases in the region Ascending, he believes that Delmicron is not a new mutant strain, but that patients are infected with both Delta and Omicron strains at the same time.

The former WHO Southeast Asia director who lived in India from 2015 to 2020 said that so far, Delmicron is just the personal opinion of a doctor who happened to be interviewed by the media.
