First death in Korea after receiving Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine.  South Korea reports the first case of Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccination death, the deceased was only 38 years old.

 

The deceased had received treatment for blood diseases, but the related diseases have been cured. The deceased was normally healthy, but his health deteriorated sharply after the vaccination and died.

According to Korean media reports on the 13th, a 30-year-old citizen in Daegu, South Korea, died three days after being vaccinated with Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine. This is the first death of a Johnson & Johnson vaccination reported in South Korea, and the health department will investigate the cause of death.

According to reports, the survivor of the deceased A (38 years old) stated on the 13th that A was vaccinated with Johnson & Johnson at a hospital in Daegu on the 10th. He developed fever and other uncomfortable symptoms on the day of the vaccination. The fever subsided the next day, but his blood pressure decreased. On the afternoon of the 12th, A’s blood pressure dropped severely and his family members sent him to the hospital for treatment, but A died at 15:00 on the 13th due to ineffective medical treatment.

The survivor claimed that Mr. A had been treated for blood diseases, but the diseases had been cured. Mr. A is usually healthy, but his health deteriorated rapidly after being vaccinated and he died. I hope that relevant parties can find out whether there is a link between the vaccine and death.

According to previous reports, Johnson & Johnson vaccine was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for emergency use in the United States at the end of February 2021. It is a COVID-19 vaccine that only requires one dose. On April 7, the vaccine received a drug approval number in South Korea and was approved to be vaccinated for people over 18 years of age. This became the third COVID-19 vaccine approved for use in South Korea after AstraZeneca and Pfizer.

So far, the cumulative number of people receiving the first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine in South Korea has exceeded 10 million. The South Korean government plans to complete the first dose vaccination of up to 14 million people by the end of this month, complete the first dose vaccination of 36 million people in September, and form herd immunity by November.
