172 were infected! Germany’s largest meat processing plant has another outbreak of COVID-19 cluster infection.
It is reported that the meat factory involved has about 2,200 employees and is the second largest meat factory of the Tonnis Group in Saxony-Anhalt.
However, the meat factory has not yet suspended operations.
This summer, more than 1,000 employees of Germany’s largest meat processing company Tunis Group’s meat factory in North Rhine-Westphalia were infected with the new coronavirus.
Now, the group’s meat factory in Saxony-Anhalt has been exposed to a COVID-19 cluster infection.
According to a German media report on December 2 local time, the large-scale COVID-19 virus test carried out by the meat joint factory recently showed that 172 employees tested positive.
Right now, Tonys Group plans to place these employees in a separate quarantine area and conduct a new round of virus testing this week.
The local government has talked with the relevant person in charge of the Tunis Group, hoping to effectively block the chain of infection through means including isolation and testing.
