Washington: First death related to Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine. A woman in her thirties died from a thrombosis after receiving Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine.
On October 5th (Tuesday), the Washington State Department of Health (WSDH) confirmed the first death of a blood clot induced by the Johnson & Johnson vaccine in Washington.
This is also the fourth person in the United States who eventually died of blood clotting problems due to the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Health officials said Tuesday that a woman in her thirties lives in King County, Washington. He received the Johnson & Johnson vaccination on August 26 and died on September 7.
“This is the first such death in Washington State. It is heartbreaking.” said Dr. Umair Shah, the Secretary of Health of the State of Washington. It is painful and difficult. In the past year and a half, we have often encountered this kind of pain because of the raging COVID-19 epidemic.”
Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine was briefly suspended for 11 days at the beginning of this year due to the risk of thrombosis. Before the federal government suspended Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine in April, three deaths were reported. Health officials finally concluded that the benefits of this single-dose vaccine far outweigh the rare risk of thrombosis, and provided guidance and advice to medical staff across the United States on how to treat clots.

According to CDC data, as of now, a total of 12.5 million people in the United States have been vaccinated by Johnson & Johnson. Among them, 38 have been diagnosed with thrombotic clots. The first death in Washington State just confirmed is the fourth death of the same kind in the United States.
