Coexistence with COVID-19: UK will stop free testing from April 01
British Prime Minister announces official coexistence with COVID-19, will stop free testing
According to the British Sky News report, on February 21, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that from February 24, all epidemic prevention and control measures in England will be lifted, and the “coexistence with the COVID-19” plan will be officially launched.
Patients who test positive for the COVID-19 will not need to be quarantined according to law; free testing for symptomatic and asymptomatic patients of the general public will be canceled on April 1, and free testing will be limited to vulnerable groups.
Johnson said it was time for the UK to move the outbreak from a level of “government intervention” to a level of “personal responsibility”. Queen Elizabeth II tested positive for the COVID-19 a day before Johnson announced the new plan.
