What diet can reduce Triglycerides if Triglycerides exceeds the standard?

What kind of diet can reduce Triglycerides if Triglycerides exceeds the standard?

What diet can reduce Triglycerides if Triglycerides exceeds the standard?  Eating any specific food does not directly reduce triglycerides. Only a comprehensive and healthy diet with many fruits, vegetables and whole grains can help control triglycerides.

Many people came to me with a test sheet for excessive triglycerides and asked: Dr. Wang, the triglycerides are high, what can I do? Don’t want to take medicine, what kind of food can reduce triglycerides?

Can eating specific foods lower triglycerides? Almost impossible, even if it can, it has a negligible effect.

But this is not to say that diet is not important. On the contrary, diet is especially important for the control of triglycerides, and it can even be said that it is very important.

If some one wants to lower triglycerides,  First, you have to figure out why triglycerides are elevated, or which foods will increase the risk of elevated triglycerides.

1. Why do triglycerides increase?

Triglycerides are one of blood lipids, and high triglycerides can also be called hyperlipidemia simply. Long-term elevated triglycerides will increase the risk of atherosclerosis and increase the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. If triglycerides exceed 5.6mmol/L in the short term, it will increase the risk of acute pancreatitis.

Therefore, elevated triglycerides are still quite dangerous.

The main reason for the increase in triglycerides is unhealthy diet. For example, in our three meals a day, fried foods, fatty foods, fatty meat, offal, pork, beef and mutton, fine grains, alcohol, etc. will increase triglycerides. Increased risk. So when we test blood lipids and see that triglycerides are elevated, we must first ask ourselves if we don’t have a healthy diet. Eating too oily, sweet, or too fine will increase the risk of elevated triglycerides.

There is also a small part of the reason that is caused by genetics, that is, individual people’s diet is also very healthy, but because triglycerides are elevated, these people will eventually have to take long-term medication for control.

2. What kind of food can lower triglycerides?

First of all, tell everyone that it is difficult or impossible to lower triglycerides by directly eating certain foods, because food cannot replace drugs.

But because triglycerides are elevated, the above-mentioned unhealthy foods are overeated. Therefore, to reduce triglycerides, the above-mentioned foods must be reduced to a minimum, and you must eat less or not.

At the same time, it does not mean that what food to eat directly reduces triglycerides, but to adhere to a long-term healthy diet, such as more fruits and vegetables, more whole grains, more aquatic products, etc., so a long-term healthy diet is conducive to triglycerides. The return to normal.

Some people have said that, doesn’t that mean that fish oil can lower triglycerides, isn’t fish oil extracted from fish?

First of all, only high-purity fish oil is conducive to triglyceride control. Ordinary fish oil has no similar effect. In fact, fish oil is fish oil. Although it is refined from fish, it is after all high-concentration fish oil rather than fish meat.

Therefore, fish can be eaten, and three meals a day can be mainly fish, but you cannot expect to eat fish to lower triglycerides.

3. When the triglyceride exceeds 5.6, you still have to take medicine

Not all elevated triglycerides can be restored to normal through the management of a healthy diet. When triglycerides exceed 5.6, the risk of acute pancreatitis will increase, especially when triglycerides are elevated. Overeating or drinking can cause acute pancreatitis.

Therefore, when the triglyceride exceeds 5.6, it is necessary to start medical treatment at this time, take fibrate lipid-lowering drugs to reduce triglycerides to a safe level, and at the same time cannot drink alcohol or overeating.

Summary:

Eating any specific food does not directly reduce triglycerides. Only a comprehensive and healthy diet with many fruits, vegetables, and whole grains can help control triglycerides.
