Governors received notice to prepare for children COVID-19 vaccination

Governors received notice to prepare for children COVID-19 vaccination from November

Governors received notice to prepare for children COVID-19 vaccination.

Governors across the U.S. received notice from the White House to prepare for children’s vaccination from November.

The federal government has reportedly notified all states across the country to prepare elementary school students to be vaccinated against the COVID-19 from November. After President Biden issued the corporate vaccine order, the Department of Labor stated that the work of drafting the guidelines is nearing completion and is expected to be officially made public soon.

Comprehensive ABC and “Wall Street Journal” reports, the White House said in a phone call with state governors on the 12th that once children’s vaccines are approved by regulatory agencies, the federal government will have enough stock to supply 28 million children between 5 and 11 years old in the United States.

One example is the Pfizer vaccine, which will be distributed in 100-dose packages. It is reported that the dose of children’s vaccine is about 1/3 of that of adults, and will be delivered to pediatricians, family doctors, hospitals, clinics, pharmacies and other places. Individual states also plan to arrange students’ vaccination through schools.

The White House anti-epidemic official, Jeff Zients, said that he understands that parents have been looking forward to the launch of childhood vaccines. After the federal government now has sufficient supplies, it will refer to other types of vaccines to establish a comprehensive distribution and ordering system.

According to sources, the federal government has purchased 65 million doses of vaccines for children from Pfizer in order to prepare for this mission. Data from the Ministry of Health also shows that 70% of institutions that will vaccinate young children in the future have already participated in the injection of adults and older children.

Compared with adults, children have a lower risk of becoming severely ill after contracting COVID-19 pneumonia. Therefore, whether parents are willing to vaccinate their children may depend on clinical data released in the next few weeks.

According to a poll conducted by the Caesars Family Foundation in September, among parents with children between the ages of 5 and 11, 1/3 are willing to arrange for their children to be vaccinated immediately, and the other 1/3 are holding a wait-and-see attitude. The figures reflect that the acceptance of vaccines by the parents of elementary school students has increased slightly since July.

As for vaccine orders for large companies, the Department of Labor said on the evening of the 12th that its Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has submitted a draft version of the guidance document, and it is believed that the final version will be released soon.

Biden invoked emergency federal regulations last month, requiring large companies with more than 100 employees to implement a vaccination order. If employees are not vaccinated, they must be tested for the virus every week. The new regulations affect approximately 80 million employees, accounting for more than half of the total labor force in the United States.
