COVID-19 Delta mutant strain has become the most difficult to prevent

COVID-19 Delta mutant strain has become the most difficult to prevent. Need to be more vigilant: the new coronavirus Delta mutant strain (the second-generation mutant strain in India) has become the most difficult mutant strain to prevent and control.

The table also summarizes the vaccines tested in the environment where the four mutant strains are prevalent. Currently, the two mRNA vaccines and the AstraZeneca vaccine and India Bharat have been tested in the Delta epidemic environment.

The results show that among the existing vaccines, there are vaccines that have sufficient protection against the four-week mutant strains mentioned above.

Eric Topol also compared the United Kingdom and Israel, two countries with high vaccination rates, why the recent epidemic has seen different trends. Israel has no blockade, and the newly infected population is only 0.2 per 100,000; while the United Kingdom has a population of 10 per 100,000 and has to postpone its reopening.

Eric Topol believes that the main reason is that the Delta mutant has become the mainstream strain in the UK and spread widely.
For other reasons, Eric Topol believes that it may be related to the following three reasons:

1) Israel’s strict border control,

2) Israel’s higher vaccination rate,

3) Israel’s full use of Pfizer mRNA vaccine.
