6 deaths in 5 days after Taiwan-made COVID-19 vaccination

6 deaths in 5 days after Taiwan-made COVID-19 vaccination, the safety of Taiwan-made Midgen vaccine raises doubts.

Since the launch of the Midgen vaccine produced in Taiwan on August 23, 6 people have died after vaccination within 5 days.

The latest case comes from a death in New Taipei City on August 28.

According to reports from China Times News, ETtoday News Cloud and other Taiwan media, the New Taipei City Health Bureau stated that Xinzhuang District notified a 40-year-old woman suffering from multiple chronic diseases to receive a Midgen vaccine on August 23, and from 23 to 24. He had a hoarse voice and severe fatigue. He fainted while cycling out on the morning of the 27th and died after being sent to a doctor.

Zhuang Renxiang, a spokesperson for the Epidemic Command Center in Taiwan, said that he has received a notification about the case in New Taipei, but there is no detailed information on hand, and the details are not yet available. Since the death notification announced on the 28th was a case as of the evening of the 27th, the case of this 40-year-old female has not been included in the official statistics on the 28th. If this case is added, the total number of deaths notified by the Midgen vaccine will be 6 people.

Previously, Taoyuan, Keelung, and New Taipei City had reported a total of 5 deaths after vaccination with Midgen vaccines, all of whom were in their 30s to 50s.

According to the report, with regard to the deaths of Midgen vaccine vaccinators, public opinion on Taiwan called for a moratorium to clarify the cause of death as soon as possible to avoid repeated tragedies. The Epidemic Command Center stated that the relevant cases themselves had high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity and other conditions, and the fighting would not be considered until the cause of death was clarified.

In fact, the Midgen vaccine has been controversial since its inception. Although it has been “endorsed” by the authorities all the way, public opinion on Taiwan has criticized its lack of a complete test process and transparent and fair review, believing that it is safe and effective. Sex is unconvincing.

The Midgen vaccine received an “expensive” order from the authorities when the second phase of the trial was still in progress at the end of May. In July, it replaced the third phase of the trial with the questioned “immune bridging” method and obtained emergency use authorization.

The R&D and production company for Midgen vaccines is Midgen Vaccine Biologics Co., Ltd. (MVC). Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the company was mainly engaged in the development and production of enterovirus and influenza vaccines.

According to the company’s website, the Midgen vaccine” is a recombinant subunit protein vaccine, developed by a Midgen vaccine company in cooperation with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to transfer the genetically recombinant S-2P spike protein technology to Taiwan.
