The world’s first inhaled COVID-19 vaccine unveiled in China
From November 12 to 14, the world’s first inhalable COVID-19 vaccine was unveiled at the “2021 China Fifth Hainan International Health Industry Expo”. The audience can experience the use of the inhaled COVID-19 vaccine on site.
It is understood that the same kind of vaccine is used for the inhaled COVID-19 vaccine and intramuscular injection, and the formulation of the vaccine has not changed, only a different method of administration is adopted.

The world’s first inhaled COVID-19 vaccine was developed by the team of Academician Chen Wei of the Chinese Academy of Military Medical Sciences in cooperation with Cansino Biological Co., Ltd. COVID-19 vaccine without injection
Previously, the atomized inhalation COVID-19 vaccine developed by the team of Academician Chen Wei published clinical research data in the “Lancet ۰ Infectious Diseases”, which is also the world’s first publicly published clinical trial results of the COVID-19 vaccine mucosal immunity.
The research results show that the safety of nebulized inhalation vaccination is good, and there is no local adverse reaction of intramuscular injection. Nebulized inhalation only needs to use 1/5 of the dose for intramuscular injection, and the level of cellular immune response can be equivalent to that of 1 intramuscular injection.
After intramuscular injection, nebulized inhalation is used to boost immunity, which can produce high levels of neutralizing antibodies.
Compared with the intramuscular vaccines currently approved for marketing, the vaccine formulation prescription, packaging form and production facilities are completely the same. At the same time, aerosol inhalation can also significantly improve the multiple immune effects of people who have been injected with the vaccine, resist the mutation of the new coronavirus, and is suitable for large-scale population promotion.
